Tatl

Does this qualify as a drawing? I always have such trouble categorizing my work...

Anyway, this is the first of a series I'm planning on doing of all of the fairies of the Zelda series. As you probably know in Ocarina of Time fairies were reduced to glowing orbs of light with wings due to graphical limitations of the N64. Even as technology progressed, they've stuck to this appearance (with the exception of Wind Waker) for all fairies. The goal of this series is to try to give more form to these fairies while staying true to the presentation establised in OoT.

I decided to start with my favorite fairy: Tatl from Majora's Mask. The challenge with these is trying to capture the personality of the character in their pose.

Tatl is a bratty, impatient older sister of her brother, Tael. I decided to give her a pouty, rather annoyed look to try to capture that. I've always imagined that she'd be a pre-teen or young teenager, and thus, I decided to give her shorter hair.

I hope I've been successful in my attempt to capture her personality as well as do justice to games. Let me know what you think!
